Pair with OptiTrack’s powerful Motive software. Featuring tools like Trained Markersets, Continuous Calibration, and an advanced Skeletal Solver. Motive streamlines your workflow from initial setup to final data analysis.
For custom integrations and OEM applications, OptiTrack provides a free Camera SDK and NatNet SDK. This C/C++ interface offers extensive control, including access to raw camera frames, image processing modes, 2D object data, camera synchronization, and all 3D data.
Create the optimal modular mocap system. The PrimeX 120 can be seamlessly combined with other PrimeX or Prime Color cameras, allowing for custom configurations tailored to your specific tracking volume and accuracy requirements.
Achieve professional-grade synchronization with the eSync 2 hub. It supports Genlock sync, Timecode synchronization, and external sync in/out, ensuring your PrimeX 120 cameras integrate flawlessly into complex production pipelines.
For applications requiring even broader coverage without compromising on accuracy, the OptiTrack PrimeX 120W offers a wider field of view. Featuring a specialized 18mm wide-view lens, it provides a 65° horizontal and 51° vertical Field of View (FOV).
This allows users to deploy fewer cameras to capture movement in wider areas, making it an efficient solution for expansive tracking volumes that demand elite precision. It shares the same core high-performance specifications as the standard PrimeX 120, ensuring top-tier accuracy and reliability.
Enable precise navigation for drone swarms, AGVs, and complex industrial systems. Essential for robotics tracking data.
Ideal for large cinematic studios, on-set camera tracking (e.g., CinePuck), and immersive VR productions.
Advance research in sports performance, gait analysis, and rehabilitation with accurate human movement analysis.
Create immersive experiences with precise VR tracking and establish reliable ground truth for AR applications.
Utilize for object tracking in simulations, design validation, and component analysis with real-world motion data for engineering.
Equip university labs and advanced research projects with a state-of-the-art motion capture system.
The maximum tracking volume depends on factors like marker size, camera count, and desired accuracy. However, with its long range (up to 91m for active markers), the PrimeX 120 is designed for very large volumes, often exceeding hundreds of square meters. Our experts can help design a system for your specific space.
The PrimeX 120 is designed primarily for indoor use. For outdoor applications or environments with challenging weather conditions, OptiTrack offers the VersaX camera series, which are IP-rated for durability.
The PrimeX 120 excels with both passive retroreflective markers (spheres, discs) and active IR LED markers. The choice depends on the application, with active markers often preferred for their unique IDs and performance in very large or complex environments.
Motive software licenses are typically purchased based on the scale and features required for your system. Please contact our sales team for detailed package information.
The PrimeX 120 uses Power over Ethernet (PoE++), simplifying cabling by transmitting both power and data over a single Ethernet cable.
The PrimeX 120 offers significantly higher resolution (12MP vs. 4.1MP) and longer range than the PrimeX 41. This makes the PrimeX 120 better suited for applications requiring maximum detail over larger distances or with smaller markers. The PrimeX 41 is still an excellent high-performance camera for many applications. See our comparison page for more details.
