Introducing the Bambu Lab H2C at Thinglab.
Vortek Hotend Change System
This is the printer’s defining feature. It uses an automated hotend-swapping mechanism that eliminates the need for traditional, wasteful purging methods between color or material changes, resulting in dramatically reduced filament waste (up to 95% less).
Engineering-Grade Thermal Environment
It features a 350°C Nozzle combined with a 65°C Actively Heated Chamber. This sophisticated thermal control minimizes warping and deformation, allowing for reliable and high-quality printing of demanding, high-temperature filaments like ABS, PC, and Nylon.
Full Filament Path AI Error Detection
Equipped with an array of 59 sensors and a quad-camera system, the printer uses a neural algorithm to continuously monitor the print. This system performs intelligent, real-time diagnostics to catch print failures like “spaghetti,” “nozzle clumping,” and “air printing” immediately.
Closed-Loop Servo Extruder
Unlike standard stepper motor extruders, the H2C’s servo extruder delivers significantly higher force (up to 10 kg), actively samples resistance and position at 20 kHz, and can detect filament grinding or clogs in real-time, greatly boosting high-speed reliability.
Multi-Functional Manufacturing Platform
The H2C’s modular design extends its utility beyond 3D printing, offering optional integration of both 10W and 40W Laser Modules for cutting and engraving, as well as compatibility with a blade-cutting module.
The heart of the H2C is the innovative **Vortek Hotend Change System**. It automatically replaces the entire hotend, eliminating lengthy purging and dramatically cutting material waste. The H2C’s intelligent algorithm optimizes filament-to-hotend allocation to minimize purge waste while delivering outstanding multi-color and multi-material results.
Up to 24-Material Compatibility: The Vortek system, coupled with parallel-connected AMS units, supports up to **24 different materials** in a single print.
Minimal Purge Waste: Achieve true **purge-saving multi-color printing**. Waste is drastically reduced (up to 95% less), saving time and cost, especially with expensive engineering filaments.
Up to 24-Material Compatibility
The Vortek system, coupled with parallel-connected AMS units, supports up to 24 different materials in a single print.
Minimal Purge Waste
Achieve true purge-saving multi-color printing. Waste is drastically reduced (up to 95% less), saving time and cost, especially with expensive engineering filaments.
To get the most out of the H2C, utilize at least two 4-slot AMS units and six matching induction hotends to fully leverage the multi-material and purge-saving capabilities.
Currently, the firmware does not support mixing different nozzle sizes (left vs. right or within the Vortek hotend sets). However, mixed nozzle types are supported of the same size (e.g., 0.4 mm standard flow + 0.4 mm high flow).
Due to the Vortek hotend rack, the H2C print bed is slightly smaller, meaning H2C buildplates are not interchangeable with H2D/H2S. However, the vision calibration plates, laser platform, and blade-cutting mats are fully compatible across all H2 series models.
Yes, both H2D and H2S can be upgraded to H2C by installing the Vortek Upgrade Kit (expected to be available in early 2026). Note that this is a complex process, and purchasing the H2C directly is recommended for the best experience.
