Carrie Mae’s New Groove

Carrie Mae has used all manner of materials in her work, but her experience with the MakerBot Replicator 2 was unique. “Light As a Feather” is Carrie Mae’s first project using objects she designed herself, as opposed to found objects.

A Seriously Long-Term Plan

These wearable sculptures were inspired in part by the Integrated Space Plan , an infographic created in 1989 that maps out humanity’s emigration into the cosmos. According to Carrie Mae, the integrated space plan “talks about humans transitioning from a terrestrial species to a solar species.
